This current NYT article, gives the grim picture of many of the youth today that are not lucky enough to have a home to live in or move back to. These are the homeless youth that are the future of our nation and as adults will end up in the system if we do not do something about it. They learn how to live on the street and survive, to young to get a hotel room, sign a lease and in many cases get a job, they are not kids and they are not adults.

Before I tell my story there is a more pressing issue at hand. Another teenager has run from her home and her parents are desperately seeking her return. at 7:30 this evening I received a phone call from my husband, he was sitting on the beach negotiating with my son. I don’t know any of the details, but he wanted my opinion and I told my husband he had to work it out.

I can’t go through what I went through the last time he ran. I will look, report it to the police and pray that he decides it is not worth it. For some reason, I feel he will be gone for a while, but I would just like to know that he is alive.
