Any parent that has experienced placing their teen or child in the psychiatric ward of a hospital knows the feeling of being mystified, ill equipped and alone.

“For people between the ages of 15 and 24, suicide is the third leading cause of death,” Simmons says. “The facts are that the rate of teenage suicide in this country is rising.”

I have a step-daughter that has mental problems. She already has dated her 1st cousin and working on her second. And she is obsess with boys. I want to know how to handle her and what to do about it..

Suicide is the THIRD leading cause of death? This is both heartwrenching and unacceptable. Many people still do not understand mental illness, especially with the hormones changing in adolscent- and teen-aged people.
