I have been writing in this blog for over a year and it suddenly occurred to me what am I really doing? How can I take this blog to a new level and really make a difference? How can TroubledTeenBlog (TTB) be a mover and a shaker for struggling teens? I am not talking about running more ads, I am talking about stepping outside the box.
It is one thing to sit and write about my experiences, to help families navigate through what can be very difficult years, but how can I go beyond? During these final days of 2008 the news seems to get drearier and drearier. Today I received an email from the principal at my youngest sons high school concerning the schools losing funding, then on the front page of the newspaper articles about the declining finances of our state government. It is easy to sit here and feel sorry for ourselves, but maybe this is the time to rise up, go the extra mile, take my mind off the dreary financial state of our country because I am making a difference. Is TTB really the best use of my time and if it is how can I make that time better?
I am asking for your help, what would you like to see from TTB, specifically our nitch to help and understand teen needs? After all they are the future. For 2009 I feel compelled to help all teens not just those struggling to get a positive start into adulthood. Will you help?
