TTB’s Saturday Morning Stretch is dedicated to parents and caregivers as a reminder to take care of yourself and do something you love. We are the examples for our teens, the time away will benefit everyone involved also our teens will gain from our personal achievements.

A friend invited me to the Dale Chihuly Glass art exhibit at the deYoung Museum in San Francisco. I was excited about going for a number of reason, first I never take the time to explore the museums I love and the deYoung is one of my favorites and  I was also a bit skeptical after reading all the critiques that the exhibit was worthy of a fine art museum exhibition. I was going in with an opinion. The exhibit definitely was worth the time, it was a fun afternoon and filled with “eye candy” treasures I did not imagine. The museum did a fabulous job with set up, lighting and reflections.

I also have to give my friend extra credit, this was her second trip to the exhibit. Looking back I would see it again if I had the opportunity, it closes in San Francisco the end of September ’08.

Dale Chihuly is a modern day master, not only at glass blowing but also his large scale Sculpture Gardens and I fell in love with his drawings. Below is a gallery of the pictures I took with my Sony Cybershot from the exhibit and an autobiographical video. Amazingly he is blind in one eye, and does not seem to let his disability get in his way. He truly is a reminder that life takes many different twists. I like his last statement explaining his creative process:

“it should be… it should feel kind of good while you are doing it. If it starts feeling like work then I will stop.”

This is feel good art, enjoy the pictures and links to more information.
