Lies and the Brain

Great article on how lies may become true and how our brain stores and processes this information. Your Brain Lies to You , reports how “Source amnesia can also lead people to forget whether a statement is true. Even when a lie is presented with a disclaimer, people often later remember it as true.”  This article could be applied to teen lying when we think they are lying,  source amnesia is playing a role in their thought process. They have talked themselves into the truth, forgetting the source and now believe it to be the truth and become offended that we do not believe them.
Here is an example ”drugs are not bad for me”; consider the source, the local drug pusher.  Just a thought. ;o)
